Shaping Future Civil Engineers for a Global Society
The Department of Civil Engineering at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) stands as a beacon of innovation, quality, and excellence in engineering education. As one of the founding departments of WUB, it has proudly nurtured over 2,500 graduates who are now making significant contributions to national development and international projects.
Our department follows the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system, ensuring that the curriculum is continuously updated to meet the evolving demands of the industry. In recognition of its academic excellence, the department received a “Very Good” rating from the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), UGC in 2018, and has since been an early adopter of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF).
Our Foundation: Labs, Faculty & Industry Integration
🔬 State-of-the-Art Laboratories
Students gain hands-on experience in 9 specialized labs: Structural Mechanics, Geotechnical, Transportation, Environmental, Hydraulics, Surveying, Engineering Materials, Drawing, and Computer Programming. These are equipped with modern tools for testing, design, and simulation — including STAAD, SAP, ETABS, and MATLAB.
🎓 World-Class Faculty
Our faculty combines academic rigor with decades of field experience in national infrastructure projects, research, and international collaboration. They mentor students not just as engineers, but as future leaders committed to ethical and sustainable development.
🤝 Industry Collaboration
We partner with RAJUK, LGED, major construction firms, and infrastructure agencies to provide internships, live projects, and site visits. This ensures our graduates are not just technically skilled — but ready to lead from day one.
📚 Outcome-Based & Student-Centric Learning
Through OBE, field visits, industrial attachments, research seminars, and co-curricular activities, we ensure every student gains real-world exposure. Our mentoring system supports holistic development — academically, professionally, and personally.
