The Hydraulics Lab provides hands-on experience with fluid behavior in controlled environments. Through scaled models and precision instruments, students explore principles governing flow in pipes, open channels, and hydraulic machinery used in water supply, irrigation, and flood control.

• Verify Bernoulli’s theorem and study energy losses in pipe flow.
• Measure flow rates using Venturi meters, orifice plates, and notches.
• Analyze open channel flow characteristics, including hydraulic jumps and specific energy.
• Test performance of pumps, turbines, and centrifugal machines.
• Model sediment transport and river dynamics using flumes and recirculating systems.
