Short Biography:

Dr. Sharif Moniruzzaman Shirazi obtained his Ph.D. from the department of Civil Engineering of Saitama University, Japan. He obtained B.Sc. Eng. and M.Sc. Eng. in Water Resources from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He worked as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at Geosphere Research Institute of Saitama University. He also worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya (UM) and Associate Professor of Civil Engineering department at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He has been working as a Professor and Head of Civil Engineering Department at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) since August 2006. Dr. Shirazi has 26 years research and teaching experience in the area of water resources, physico-chemical properties of soil, runoff modelling, groundwater vulnerability and impact of climatic parameters on crop production. He worked on bentonite related to Geotechnical Engineering for nuclear waste disposal in Japan. He has about 63 technical papers published in national and international peer reviewed journals and one book entitled 'Weighting Methods and their Effects on Multi-Criteria Decision Making Model Outcomes in Water Resources Management', Springer International Publishing (Verlag), Switzerland, ISBN 978-3-319-12585-5. Dr. Shirazi also published another book “Water Resource Research on Modelling and Management”, ISBN 978-983-52-1163-8, UTM Press, Malaysia. He is a Google Scholar and h-Index is 22. He is a member of several institutions including American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), International Water Association (IWA), Engineers Institute of Bangladesh (IEB), Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) of Institute of Engineering and Technology (UK).
