Mr. Susankar Chandra Acharjee obtained a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in December 2024. His thesis was titled “Evaluation of Road Traffic Safety of Rural Roads in Bangladesh.” He also completed an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Structure) from BUET in 1989 (1st Class), with a thesis on “Analysis of Spine Beam Bridge Deck Finite Element Method.” He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Structure & Soil) from BUET in 1987 (1st Class, 7th Position).

With over 34 years of professional experience in the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, Government of Bangladesh, he has contributed significantly to policy formulation, project planning, and execution to foster sustainable development in rural, urban, and water sectors nationwide.

His expertise includes management supervision, infrastructure planning, road and bridge design, slope protection, and collaboration with international development partners such as the World Bank, ADB, JICA, IFAD, and KFW.
