Environmental Engineering Lab

Dedicated to safeguarding public health and ecosystems, this lab analyzes physical, chemical, and biological parameters of water and wastewater. Students learn to design treatment systems that comply with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.

Key Activities
  • Test pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and chemical oxygen demand (COD).
  • Measure total suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids (TDS), and hardness in water samples.
  • Analyze presence of nitrates, phosphates, chlorides, and heavy metals using titration and spectrophotometry.
  • Conduct jar tests to optimize coagulation-flocculation in water treatment.
  • Study microbial contamination through coliform and E. coli detection methods.
