The Engineering Materials Lab focuses on evaluating the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of essential construction materials. Through standardized tests, students ensure that materials meet national and international specifications for durability, strength, and sustainability in civil infrastructure projects.

Key Activities

• Perform sieve analysis and fineness modulus tests on fine and coarse aggregates.
• Conduct slump, compressive strength, and workability tests on fresh and hardened concrete.
• Test setting time, soundness, and consistency of cement using Vicat apparatus.
• Evaluate steel reinforcement for yield strength, elongation, and bendability.
• Assess durability parameters like water absorption, abrasion resistance, and sulfate resistance.
